In Adrian this past weekend, a group of Arbor Prep Track and Field stars ventured out to compete against the best in the region.
Trasen Willingham, Angela Meggisson, Maureen Doe, Monica Davis, and Shanelle Boakai met for warm-ups in the middle of the field before facing sharp competition with thirteen other teams.
First off the block was Trasen in the 100m and 200m dashes. With a new personal best of 11.38s, he placed in the top 8, earning a place in the finals.
Angela and Shanelle weren't able to place in the finals for the 100m dash, but Angie's new best time of 13.85s leapfrogged Shanelle's previous record, earning her the title of "Fastest Girl at Arbor Prep".
Later in the day, the girls 4 x 100m relay placed Maureen, Monica, Shanelle and Angela on the track against six other schools. With perfect baton exchanges, and each leg overtaking a different lane, the girls earned a new best time of 54.23s and placed 1st in their heat.
By end of day, Trasen, and the girls 4 x 100m team ALL brought home medals. A sign of this season's growth, and more success to come.
